The new administrative security organ that replaced ‘local defence’ has launched its security installations in Nyanza district.
In presence of the public, district officials Ngororero 40 DASSO officers pledged to put to use the training they received to provide maximum security to people and their properties.
40 security officers vowed to respect the country.
Abdallah Murenzi, the mayor of Nyanza district who officiated the event asked DASSO officers to meet the needs of local people and their security their priority.
“You are expected to add value to the already well-disciplined security set-up, you shouldn’t turn to be a problem instead of a solution. Protect the people and win the public support,” he said.
DASSO is responsible for reinforcing district decisions and instructions taken in connection with security, collaborate with other organs to ensure public order and work with other organs in prevention and management of disasters.
“I am prepared to play my role and fight everything that causes insecurity including drugs in Busasamana sector where I will be based,” said Ziada Umutesi DASSO officer
DASSO comes is now the fourth security organ alongside Rwanda National Police, Rwanda Defence forces and Rwanda Correctional Services in maintaining Rwanda’s security.
