Col Andre Habyarimana, head of reserved force in Northern Province urged reserved forces in Gakenke district to be exemplary to the residents in various activities.
This was said on January 26, during the meeting of reserved force and Col Andre Habyarimana.
Col. Habyarimana commended reserved force for their role in sensitizing residents to maintain security, saying they should become exemplary and cooperate with residents to keep security.
“I urge you to become exemplary to the residents in maintaining security. You have the experience in security keeping and you cannot behave in the same way as non-experienced in case of a bombing,” he explained.
Francois Nyakagabo, head of Reserved Force in Muhondo sector explained that normally they carry out night patrols, explaining they will now be exemplary since they are experienced.
“Security concerns us all not only the village leader or cell leader. So as a person with army experience, I must be exemplary in keeping security and educate other residents on how to maintain it,” he said.
Pierre Celestin Ushimiyimana, one of the reserved forces in Minazi sector added that being exemplary of the residents requires them to be near residents and work with them for better results.
“We must be exemplary in maintaining security, cooperate with residents since they are the ones to give us useful information every day. Residents can be of great help when leaders teach and work with them,” he said.
Reserved forces were told to make use of available opportunities and set up small projects such as bee-keeping and livestock farming for sustainable development.
